Not for human consumption!?

Well, I think I messed up big time. I've been feeding my precious tilapia koi food (I like in a small place and it was all I could get... :( ) for about 2 months and last night I read on the back of the package that it isn't for fish for human consumption.Well, now what? I have special ordered some food but....will I ever be able to eat these guys? This is the food: …See More

I just finished cycling my first system (in my basement) and am ready to add fish.I planted some seeds about a month and a half ago and transplanted the to the grow beds three weeks ago. The zucchini plants took off and started growing like crazy. The leafy greens (I got the seeds mixed up so I don't know exactly what they are - lettuce, kale maybe) are growing slowly but some of the leaves are a little curly and a much lighter…See More

"A good rule of thumb is you should have the same volume in your media grow bed as your fish tank. There are 7.5 gallons in a cubic foot so 55/7.5 = 7.3 square ft. Round it up more is better than less."

help with math?!

I'm new to this but very excited! I'm planning my indoor system but I've hit a road block with my calculations. I have a 55 gallon tank. If the grow bed is a foot deep, what surface area does that leave me to work with?It seems like it should be simple math. I'm going to chalk it up to the mysteries of the imperial system. Could anyone help me out?See More
