Hello. My name is Gabriela and with my partner Matias we are trying to develop an aquaponic system in Chapadmalal (500km south Buenos Aires 38°0′S, 57°30′W) Argentina, 5 block from the Atlantic ocean. Chapadmalal is a place with plenty properties for farming, excellent water quality, constant rains and the four seasons. It's a place with a lot of winds, the weather chances rapidly but also storms pass rapidly too. Plenty of SUN! and nice waves!

We have a permacultural project in our land of 5000m2. We started building a straw bale house (130m2) that has double function, upstairs our home and downstairs a future restaurant and an eco-proveeduria (food market). The most important stage of the project is to build a commercial scale aquaponic system, to provide organic and healthy food and fish to our community, our restaurant and other ones. After achieving the aquaponic system properly functioning and the restaurant, we plan to develop sustainable medicine,by expanding the aquaponic system we will grow medicinal plants (Matias is a doctor and intends to conduct his career to sustainable medicine and herbology).
We plan to use 1400m2 inicially for the aquaponic system.
We've been in Hawaii and visited an aquaponic farm (Living Aquaponics) three years ago when they were starting. We have a global idea on how to develop the system but as in our country there is no aquaponic development it is a big challenge. Now we are in the process of designing the commercial plan properly to get financial support from anyone and anywhere that is interested on helping us and our project.
