Please tell us something else about yourself.: I'm an electrical engineer in the power industry. My recent interest in sustainable lifestyles and self-sufficiency has exposed me to many new ideas. Summer of 2011 was my first experience with gardening. I designed some raised beds for lazy backyard gardening, a combination of wicking beds and square foot gardening. After building the beds, all I had to do was watch the plants grow. I never even had to water them, very inspiring... The onset of winter crushed my outdoor gardening and has fueled my quest for year round fresh food. My present studies include passive solar heating, permaculture and aquaponics.

There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.
