Please tell us something else about yourself.: I am planning on building a passive solar greenhouse that uses solar hot water heating to control the tank temperature. I plan on sinking 300gal tanks in the ground and run one warm water tank and one cold water tank. The warm water tank will be seasonal and flood beds both in and outside of the greenhouse. The coldwater tank will hold koi? year round and trout during the winter. I have grand plans. I have to see how they all turn out.

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community! I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics. There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Main page. You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful. And join the Colorado Aquapons group (see the Groups tab above). (I'm in Boulder, BTW)
