I am a huge open-source supporter and actually help people by teaching them alternative methods and creating free how-tos without asking for anything in return. We now live in a world where there are people constantly preaching sustainability and alternative energy, only to find out that their speech was bait to get you to buy their eBook, pay a membership subscription to their club/website, or buy some other product that they are selling. I believe knowledge should be free for the taking if anybody has the ambition to absorb it and utilize it. If I can help a person achieve their goals that they couldn't afford to reach otherwise, then I feel that my job is done. What goes around, comes around, and I will be rewarded for my efforts eventually.
