dilution from rain?

How did you find us?: searching for more info on the net

Are you an aquaponic gardener already?: not yet

If so, what type of system? (pick all that apply): We are just building the Barel-ponic system.

Please tell us something else about yourself.: We definately fall into the newbie category. Recently(less than two years) we started a dairy farm. I`m milking about 30 cows twice a day. We also have two young girls three and five years old. All this leaves me with little free time, and I`ll admit that all of it is spent reading all i can about aquaponics. I stumbled apon your site in January and find it to have such a warm spirit. Very well organized and so helpful. I must run along now, today we are building the structure to support our barrels.

I spend like a month calling around trying to get talking to the right person the find out about the legalaties of fish. But the guy i spoke with at the provincial government said i could buy perch or tilapia fingerlings and raise them as long as i kept the recept.

Are the rules different in Quebec ? Who were you talking to to?

I saw your message about cooling the water for trout. I've wrestled with this very issue in the past and concluded that the only way to keep the water reliably cool enough for trout was to use a chiller - Via Aqua makes one that works well, but is very pricey. Good luck with the rainbows.
