If you found us through a search engine, what search words were you using?: raising fish aquaponics

Please tell us something else about yourself.: My wife and I, and kids, moved from New York to NorCal in September 2009. We bought a house on 10 acres in the foothills near Placerville. Since then we have planted 30 fruit trees in an orchard, built raised beds in our garden, started beekeeping, raising chickens, and have 7 pigs. Quite a change from NY. Now Ive built an AP system, and we're excited to see the results. Another step towards feeding ourselves with food we raised or grew. Which is harder than I thought it would be!

There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyone is quite happy to help out new members--no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page. You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.
