Are you an aquaponic gardener already?
No
Please tell us something else about yourself.
I'm hoping to get into ecologically-friendly plant and animal care, even if I do end up eating them. Here in Milwaukee we have a large-scale aquaponics operation called Sweetwater Organics that's currently testing Lake Perch (10,000) in their systems and a group called the Victory Garden Initiative working to create backyard aquaponics using rainwater harvesting. Almost all of this has come into being in the last two years and it's great to see progress. Much of this was inspired by Will Allen, a former basketball player and now urban aquaponic farmer and worm composter extraordinaire, whose Growing Power has been operating for around a decade.

Yes, good things are happening in Milwaukee. There are a couple members of this community who are original Sweetwater folks.
Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community! I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics. There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.
