I’m a recent horticulture graduate, magna cum laude, of West Virginia University.
During my time at Metrolina Greenhouses, I cultivated my organization, preparation, time management, and communication skills to manage large areas in a limited amount of time. I have experience preforming countless greenhouse tasks including: pesticide and bio-control application, insect monitoring, managing many different types of irrigation systems, soil testing, etc. I also have experience applying aquatic and landscape pesticides.
My education involved a great deal of independent research; requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wide range of skills. I have strong oral, written, organizational and computer skills. Many past formal and informal presentations have prepared me well for this position. I have strong drafting skills and an eye for detail. I am dedicated to my work, and it would be my pleasure to put in extra hours to get the job done right.
I am self-motivated. I work well individually, but I very much enjoy working in groups and learning from others' experiences. I have had multiple leadership positions in group projects. I lived and worked with many international co-workers, demonstrating cross-cultural communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships.
I’m outgoing and love connecting with people through nature! I have years of experience with guest service from multiple previous jobs.
I have a strong desire to learn, and am preparing to pursue a master’s degree in horticulture or plant pathology. My ultimate career goal is to own a horticultural production business.
