My husband built a 12' x 22' cedar frame greenhouse in 2014. We attended Sylvia's weekend immersion class on Aquaponics in October 2014. We then completed plumbing 2 fish tanks (300 gallon and 100 gallon), 5 flood and drain Hydroton media beds (total 380 gallon volumn), and 1 DW raft (100 gallon) with 2- 125 gallon sump tanks. Added plant starts in January 2015, added 65 small (3" to 6") tilapia in February, we were fully cycled after 5 weeks. Now we are daily tending to huge plants taking over greenhouse and ravenous tilapia 6"- 10" already producing offspring (managed to save 5 fry, also growing rapidly)! Ammonia and nitrites remaining at 0, nitrates over 100, but struggling with pH dropping daily (we add pH Up + every 4th day) as of April 1, 2015. Having fun in a greenhouse now too small and looking at ways to use fish water for plants outside...
