Someone asked about the results I was getting from this design, but for the life of me I can't find the comment.  In any case, the answer is I haven't used this drain pipe as of yet since it is designed for leafy vegetables like lettuce and spinach and such.  They are but just little seedlings at the moment struggle for life in my house.  When it cools down this fall I will move them outdoors and we will then see how well it works.
