Jovan, I learned from Friendly Aquaponics. Their Micro System Manual is the best and most complete manual on small trough systems. To go larger you can multiply the dimensions and proportions by a factor of what ever size you wish.

Hey Rich, thank you for your compliment. The troughs are around 12" deep and have 2" of foam on top, so the roots have around 10" of water to grow down into. The water stays at a constant level. There is about 4 gallons a minute running into the troughs. I am in the process of adding media beds with worms as a filter before the rafts. I will post some new pics soon.
Aloha
Chris

This lettuce is beautiful Chris. I have a successful (very small) media based grow bed system, but I'm not at all familiar with these floating rafts. For your lettuce here, how many inches of water are the roots in, and are they always floating in water, or is there a cycle when the water is drained? Thanks!
