The 13watt CFL's generate very little heat and are super bright.  A 2 pack was $4.95 at home depot and another 4 pack for $9.00 from Walmart.

I had plant bulbs and the plants were leggy and rotting before they got very large.  TCLynx mentioned CFL's and I did a little research so there they are.

Cool. Thanks. I am using 60watt plant light bulbs i also got from walmart. The were lik $5 a pop and i was curious if i really needed plant bulbs or if i could just use regular. It looks like your plants really like them.

The lights are all CFL Daylight 13watt 6500k temp.  I purchased so Vase light kits from Walmart that were certified for CFL use and just made pendant lights out of them.
