Hi Rebecca, Thanksfor your comment, I have been trying to find info on how cement grow beds could interact with the system. if you have any info that you can share on this with me it would be greatly appreciated. I will be in Maui for one month from November through December for a seminar (unrelated to Aquaponics). It would be good if we could connect while I am there.

Thanks Peter. Sorry for the delay in responce. it was a busy weekend dealing with a Hurricane that hit country. We were blessed in that we suffered no damage. But we have been out of electricity for 2 days so the generator has been running hard. I encourage you to read as much as you can andplay around with the different ways you can setup until you settle on one that works for you.

All the best, we are trying to setup something similar in kenya, still in drafting stages. This is really Awesome!!!

You didn't mention it, so thought it best to speak about the need for acid washing and sealing the cement blocks before they make contact with the system water. Untreated they will mess with the pH and make it basic. On the big island of Hawaii, people putting in rain catchment water systems purposely choose cement tanks to counter balance the acid rain created by their proximity to an active volcano.

I have cemented the all of the tanks and will be using themwithout liners. I will have some photos by weekend.

Will you lay in liners or seal it another way?

Awesome! It's amazing what you can do now on an acre of land with Aquaponics.

Thanks for the compliment. It has been two years in the works and I hope to start the system up in a month or so. Only 4 of the fish tanks you see will be connected to the APS. The other tanks will be used for restocking the four APS fish tanks. Once I get this system up and running I am, planning to add a madia filled system to some of the other tanks to grow seet basil, sweet peppers, and tomatoes. The Raft system of DWCwill focus mainly on lettuce production.
