My drain cycle is about 20 to 30 minutes. Not sure. Still learning. The small gravel is native to my area called pea gravel. It seems to work fine. My bell siphon dose ave a few issues. Once in a while it needs a tweak. This is only my 2nd year doing this. I need more fish and warm weather for right now to keep going. Thanks for your interest.

Nice .. found using a solid 1/2 inch tube works best ... never thought of putting on the top though .. whats your drain time ?..... also how do you find the small gravel for growing and related issues ?
