Two Jay, yes.. the gravel beds are the only filtration in my system. ...however, i dont recommend the "regular" pea gravel like you see here.. go with 1/2" to 1" river rock. this picture was taken as we were replacing the small stuff with larger river rock... notice the worm castings have just about clogged the gravel... i have a lot of big fish in my system,... this should not be a problem for someone with less fish and larger river rock. ..and for the record, i only recommend that you use 30 - 40% river rock and 60 - 70% 3/4" crushed granite, depending on your source water's PH and the maturity of your media.. i have not had to adjust my ph in two years.. it  stays at 6.5  -7.0

Is your peastone your only solids waste collection area?  I am loving on the wigglers.
