So, in your opinion if you had to light a 4x8 raft bed - you would put probably 2 mixed-bulb-T5-arrays over it?

I am building Friendly Aquaponics' micro system 64 with 2 4x8 grow beds and need to light them indoors...

There are 6 100 watt CFL's.  I am adding another bar from the pond today to make 10.  The best lighing from using the following:  1000 watt Metal halide--shop lights with 4200k --CFL's 100 watt--T5 flour 4' tubes 4 and 8 bulb units.

I have to say hands down that for the floating raft T5 tubes are the best.  low heat and low power comsumption for the brightness and spectrum--i have mixed bulbs in one side and just veg in the other and the mixed bulbs are the way to go.  3000k flower and i think they are 5000k veg--the T5 units cost about the same as a 400watt MH/HPS system.

That unit is 4' x 8' 24" of water on the bottom and 12" of water on the top--I made a gravel/oystershell/plant and mosses from the forest filter out of a old ugly 55gallon tank i got off of craigslist for 20 bucks.  The black back side is towards the lights
