Because of our extended rainy season we needed a lot of protected, outdoor work space (not shown in this pic). We also built in a dedicated "clean room" to store fish feed and another room for workers to change and/or bathe before entering the tank area. Rt side, we added an Eco-(water-free) bathroom with wheel-chair access ramp. 2nd floor,includes office/class room space plus kitchenette,a 2nd Eco-bathroom, & accomodations for farm guests. As our ideas coalesced and with input from state biologists and others we realized that our farm could become quite a resource for our community while getting the word out about aquaculture, very much still in it´s fledgling phase here. 2nd and 3rd floors therefore provide ample work and view opportunities for students, other producers, and vistors to view the farm and daily workings w/out having to enter the tank area and potentially compromizing our quite strict, voluntary, sanitation protocols.
