Thank you for your comments! The rosemary and mint was becoming too invasive so i ditched them. Plus i'm getting read for the fall now. Iceberg lettuce on its way..yummm :) I got 4 good sized tomatoes, and others still in the make, and also 2 green jalapeno.

Sean - I think you've provided good info.  Thanks for sharing your experience...I would have thought the same, but not known for sure until you confirmed it.

Im a little past the noob point, and one fo the mistakes i made with my first setup was that the grow bed for my ebb and drain system was not deep enough, it was only about 6 inches, and it looks like you have around that there as well.   You will find that after a while, the 2 grow bed containers will bow under the weight of the water and substrate, same with the fish/water container below, it will bow and bulge out and deform unde the constant water weight.   Those are long term problems tho.   A video of you system running and filling/draining will help give better feedback.  you can check out my videos from my first setup.   Im upgrading my system right now.

Good job for a first setup.

Anyone have any suggestions that they would like to make on my setup? I'm a noob, and this is my first setup. Made from stuff around the house.
