On my first indoor Aquaponics system I tried using cotton balls as my seedling pods, and used car oil funnels as my plant pots. Then I ran my one small pump from my fish tank to the wall mounted grow bed (funnels) and it seemed to work pretty well. I did have some plant death after a while, but it was all experimental, so I made no attempt to prevent any mishaps. I just wanted to see how long these 4 plants could sustain the water quality. Which was 2 months before I did a small water change. My rosemary grew 3 ft before I took the system down.
