3/4" (19mm) PVC pipe is used to pump the water from the tank to the grow bed. A ball valve is used to bleed off excess flow as the system is 'tuned'.

Sahib, Namaste.

The grow bed shown in the pictures is marketed as a HydroFarm( http://www.hydrofarm.com ) 50 gallon Reservoir (which is actually 55 gal/100L) that they get out of Canada. I'm sure the manufacturer supplies it to other companies as well. It is 1 meter square at the outside of the top rim (39.5" x 30.5" x 13" H). The usable depth is 30cm and the "L's" supporting the base are set 80cm apart. Its a vacuum formed product and the floor is about 2mm thick. The three aluminum suppports seem sufficient as I now have it loaded up with grow media. It cost me $89 USD at my local hydroponics store which is what I paid for the used IBC tote that was used to ship agave syrup.
