I could imagine it was a little bit of a pain to install. I always want to use STG products, but am skeptical with the high price.

Yes it is Sure to Grow 6" slab. There are three of them stuffed in there. This is not the easiest media to install, but after planting the first seedlings today, I think it was worth the effort. The tower is 6" PVC. The slabs come in 3' sections. I put two back to back and cut the third one in half to finish. They fit perfectly. I put rock wool cubes with sprouts in today. It was super easy.
