  Thanks Rob, that's a great question. I am using a filter box around the pump. Its not exactly a filter but it does filter sollids from getting into the troughs. I am working on a system to catch solids in the tank but have'nt built it yet.

This is the first M100 system from Miracle Aquaponics installed in October 2012 in Oakland, Ca. It holds over 40 plants and home for 25 fish. 10 catfish and 10 carp and 5 koi. Winter crops were planted and are getting a slow start in the rainy cold climate but root growth is quickly increasing.
