Last week, I finished work on a hugelkulture bed. I dug about 6 inches into the ground, and buried a large amount of wood of all sizes. I laid the foundation with thick logs and topped it off with brush. Then I covered it all over with soil and woodchips. This year, I'm planning on planting some legumes to fix some nitrogen to balance out all the carbon in the soil and am going to try my hand at a load of miniature melons. I've got about 45 seedlings started :)
