Thank you Dan,You have have gave me more to think on.Will keep the gold fish for now.And thanks for the pic of your plumbing, really helps me bring it all together. And I kind of knew the pool height would bite me.

I do not use the pool pump since it broke. I have a 55 gallon barrel connected by a U siphon where I have my pump

My return comes back into the pool filter area. I would lower the pool into the ground more next time so I do not have to raise the beds so much. I do not use a sump since I would need a big one and I did not want to spend the money.

I have the beds up on blocks and the return down below (4" thin wall PVC). With 1000 gallons you can have a lot of beds. I have about 24 1/2 barrels and can add more but I do not think the 4" return can handle all the return water.

I have an IBC fish tank connected to my 12 foot DWC and my goldfish. I would think about keeping Tilapia if I were you, they do not like cold water. I would go with a native like cats, or bream.

The pool cost me $100 at watmart and I put it half way in the ground, which I think helps keep the water cool in the summer and I have it covered and in a hoop house.

If you plan on Tilapia you will need to heat the water in the winter in Jacksonville. Tilapia can not take water temps in the low 50's which is what my water temp got to in Gainesville.

I separated my goldfish from the cats. They were eating all the food and growing like crazy but not the cats.
