hi chris, the tank is steel and pipework copper, but this is all indirect, so a heat exchanger de-couples the two systems. (especially as the solar thermal GSHP is filed with brine..)

Do you have any problems with the copper in the system or do you use a heat exchanger? I ask because of copper having such good antimicrobial and antibacterial properties.

yer its a thermal store which recieves inputs from both solar thermal, and also a ground source heat pump, this heat is then stored in the tank (800ltrs) when its most efficient to collect it) and then drawn down to keep us at 28-29 degrees, the ventilated air is then also sent through a passive heat recovery unit to recover heat on cold days..

What is the tank in the back ground?? Is it tied into the system?
