Somewhat, again DWC is ideal for leafy greens, not really suitable for anything fruiting or more longterm crops. We grow 2 varieties of basil, 6 different lettuces, 3 varieties of bok choi, 3 varieties of watercress, sorrel and minutina, just to name a few...

As a commercial operation, it's all about cost-effectiveness, and not necessarily being able to grow as many varieties as possible. That said, we also have a number of wick beds for growing as well, which are great for growing root veggies and other crops not well suited for DWC.

But doesn't floating rafts limit what you can plant?

On a commercial scale DWC (floating rafts) are really the way to go. There's a lot less input per sq ft, and significantly less labor associated with floating rafts. We specialize in selling live-root leafy greens, which are ideally suited for DWC growing.

So why is it it looks like more commercial use the flouting beds than the ones with the media in them? I'm just getting started so just asking
