Not really a problem here- Hawaii has no native land mammals, and the invasive mongoose and cats aren't problematic. We have a native hawk that might take fish, but it's extremely rare. At one point I had seven ducks, and they were a huge problem for just messing the pond up and destroying the plants around it. Now I only have one that my wife insists on keeping, or it would be gone too!

Shawn, how do you protect critters from getting at your fish, or is that not a problem where you live? I sure do like the idea of incorporating a beautiful pond with your aquaponic system.
