I use a double (2x10 or 12" Air Stone on 1 1/4" or larger pipe set in the middle of the FT and attached to a slotted Tee at the top. I don't glue it to the Tee so I can remove it occasionally for cleaning. The Tee acts as a skimmer and emergency overflow.
