The beds are super simple. The bottom half is gravel. The top half is coconut coir and worm castings. There is weed-mat at the gravel/coir interface along with a drain at the elevation. The drain allows the gravel reservoir to be filled but not overfilled. I use a perforated piece of 2" pipe to fill the reservoir and to check the level. These worked better than I could have ever imagined. I now have wicking tubs integrated into my terraced system based on the success of these Rubbermaid. Will post some pics of that soon.

Chris, love your place. did you ever do a how to on the wicking beds? im trying to do a few more things outside of my ap systems, and would like to do something like your rubbermaids here.
