Sorry, I missed this post.  The bottles have a solo cup with hydroton or red lava rock in it. 

No I dont guess there is a name for this setup.  "Poorboy Aquaponics" - maybe.   I have grown many types of things in this setup and it is working well.  My new raft system however is surpassing the performance of the hybrid setup on okra and basil.  Still comparing tomatoes and a few others.  Hair roots explode in growth in the DWC

this looks great. 2lts bottles filled with expanded clay, pvc pipe? does that type set up have a name?
