Buildex pH Test Results
Test tubes (left to right) water exposed for several weeks to Buildex; water combining 50% of Buildex and 50% snowmelt, snow melt water alone. Caution: since I am not a scientist or chemist, these tests cannot be considered conclusive; your results likely will vary. Suggestions on improving test methodology welcome.

Don't think you want to add whole eggs, just the shells. I did measure the pH of the water in the test jar that combines the Buildex and the egg shells; the pH is 6.94, but there is a strong smell of hydrogen sulfide from the water, which suggests I didn't microwave the egg shells long enough.

If I boiled the eggs, would that work? hope thats not a newbie question... would the same nutrients be there I mean.

In a follow up test, I added 4 crushed egg shells (after microwaving for 2 minutes to kill any bacteria) to the test jar to see what effect, if any they will have in either (1) maintaining the current pH 6.5 reading in the center test tube or (2) drawing the potential hydrogen closer to the snowmelt reading. Will report results at a later date.
