I should mention that my swirl filter design traps both sinkers and floaters. Most swirl filters only address the sinkers because the floaters are trapped in the FT. My SLO FT plumbing has a skimmer system that clears out uneaten food, etc. and that means floaters get out of the FTs as well and must be addressed as well as the sinkers. Just like any modern septic tank. It is very important to not let oils and uneaten food build up in the FT, especially when raising trout as we do.

The swirl filter is in the center of the bio-filter. My swirl filter is very simple and I use that by itself as well before the media GBs to keep them clean. Yes I made the fish feeders. A big part of the fun in AP is designing and building your own system wherever you can.

Looks good. I have seen a simpler swirl filter on utube but yours may filter better.  Where did you get your feeder or did you make it too?

The Drains are the red and black valves to the right of the fish feeder.

I do. I added it to the first one later when I built the 2nd one and the swirl filter.

Do you use another drainpipe to remove the solids?

Creative.  I like it!
