Nothing wrong with a bit of fun.  I feel better now, as the addition of a locale gave me the final puzzle piece to identify this as Ladybower reservoir.

It was just a bit of fun guys, sorry to dissapoint haha. Its a Lake in the Derbyshire Dales about an hours drive from my home. Myself and about ten of my friends went for a walk in the hills early New Years Day of this year. Saw this huge drain an had to take a pic as I'd never seen anything like it before.

not to sound too lame... but is that the ap system/lake, or just a "neat picture"?

@Rob Nash;  It's a Bell-mouth spillway for a dam.  Matthew might be willing to disclose where this particular one is.

If this is in your grow bed, you need more media.  Lots more media.  (Just how much would a railcar of Hydroton cost, anyways?)

Will your fish be trained so stay away, or does the oxygen revive them after they are sent through a sewage pump and returned to the lake?

You must be joking ,but you don't sound like you are.  How about a better description of what is going on.

Seriously if this is not Photo Shopped it dangerous.

The Syphon has just started and at the same moment a switch is thrown automatically to turn on my Super Aerators.. 4x 4400AF Kasco MArine High Oxygen Aerator to super inject the system with oxygen.

please explain, what the heck is that, a sump, that creates a massive aeration?
