I am in Silicon Valley, CA.   I got leaf miners in my chard (dirt garden), but I don't know what kind.  Apparently they came from either the potting soil, the compost, or the manure that I used.  Once you get them though, you can't really get rid of them.  I hate them - they are so gross. I also got aphids - yuck!  I was spraying neem oil every day.

Your garden looks so nice.

Hello Elizabeth, yes it is swiss chard the red kind. I have not gotten leafminers, I will let you know is I do. If you re talking the dipteran leafminers (flies) i do not think I will get them here in tucson, I think is too dry. If you mean lepidopteran leafminers (moths) i have not but I will let you know. The Swiss  spinach is doing very well, but the swiss chard is just insane.  Where are you located?? Ricardo

Is that chard in the background?  How is it going?  Do you ever get leaf miners?  -Elizabeth
