This land was actual pine barren once upon a time, and was logged by Owens-Illinois between 1950-1960+/-, only the northern island in the Bahamas (Abaco, Grand Bahama and Andros) have vast pine barrens, this particular piece of land was once part of the 3000 acre Heveatex Plantation started by James B. Crockett in the 1950's, it sits on the eastern perimeter. More information on farming in Abaco can be found at http://www.abaconian.com/agriculturalevolution.html.

It does look nice :-) 

 It reminds me of parts of FL. Most folks don't think 'pine trees',  when they think of the tropics....

Wow Wayne.  It looks incredible!  I never imagined the Bahamas would look like the high plains.
