The yellow bucket has the bell siphon in it.  

Ben, I retired the NFT system.  I couldn't get the bio filter to work.  I ran it through a bucket and then through a panty hose but I was trying to use a bell siphon in the bucket and when it would flood, it would be too much for the nft and they would spill over.

What happened with the NFT?  Mine is quite similar to your initial set-up, with less angle to the pipe and more water flow.
