Historically, my garden has been very dead this time of year. But, with 110 degree days, the plants are doing great. A little shade cloth was to help keep water temperature down. Skirts on black plastic grow beds for the same reason.

Nice! Good fix. Nothing beats common sense and AP gives us lots of ops to vent our creativity. Like me you seem to have fun solving whatever crops up.
The Ben and Glenn Aquazen airlift pump works pretty well, but is also noisy in a gurgle kind of way. To knock down the noise, I used a 4" to 2" PVC adapter with a 2" pipe hanging down and capped on the end. This sits in the end of the 4" water air separator. I put a 2" pipe in the middle and surrounded with fiberglass air filter media to hold it loosely in the middle of the adapter. There is a short piece of 4" pipe with holes to allow the air to escape. I also put some foam in the 2" pipe and in the top of the 4" cap on top. This is very effective removing high frequencies, There is a world of difference with the muffler sitting on top of the pipe and removed.
Great job Jim! If it ain't hot as H it's cold as H these days. You seem to have a handle on it. I am curious what the pipe with the holes near the top is? We too love the extended growing season with AP. Here we can grow all year with some help from the cold artesian well in the Summer and the woodstove in the Winter.
