Tell me where did you pick up the plastic.  All I have over my plants is shade cloth and we are getting hammered with rain and it just dumps on the plants.  Can you imagine Waianae getting rain.  We only got about 4 inches last year and now we are getting 4 inches a day.  Are you getting hammered over there in Kona.  Mahalo for the information.  Raychel

When I used the mesh, I trapped in the aphids and white fly. The two troughs that were covered with the mesh became infested with bad bugs while the uncovered troughs had no problems with bugs. I concluded that it is inevitable that the bad bugs get in and I was preventing the good bugs getting in to eat the bad ones. If an aquaponics system is an ecosystem then why not let mother nature help keep bugs in balance?

Hi Chris.I just love the concept....Hoop house over bed. See you got rid of the mesh, and you intend to leave it open ended, won't they get attacked by insects?
