Christian, the Tomatos are strung and will be rigourously pruned to each truss... and lowered... as I do as a matter of course... and for ventilation...

 

Tomatoes in NFT & raft certainly spread their roots widely... but in media they're not too bad....

 

I expect the bed may well be almost root bound by the end of harvest though...

wow, that is way close spacing.  I would highly recommend removing some.  In my rafts I'm going to 1 tomato for every 2'x2' after having lots of problems w the unbelievable root mass that tomatoes will grow.
