Great website! I am a freelance graphic designer, and have recently found out about Aquaponics through doing some volunteer work for the Environmental Cleanup Coalition. Needless to say it was a life-changer, and now I really want to pursue Aquaponics! I would be willing to learn just about anything in the field, and can relocate upon opportunity. I have lived in over 5 countries and am really good with adapting to various cultures and getting along with people. Having created a personal website about Aquaponics, I thought it would be a good idea to get involved with an existing community. Regardless, here is what I have so far... just a little something to help promote and advertise the concept- http://liveaquaponics.wordpress.com/ . I have an online graphic design portfolio also, upon request.

Hi Everyone!

I currently live in the DC Metro, but am having serious fantasies of buying a plot of land in colorado, building a tiny house, and being close to my family. My job here is in cyber security, but I'm open to other options. If anyone has any leads on a job close to the Ft Collins area that might be willing to be patient with me while I make the move, I would really appreciate it.

Max, let me know where and when you find a position....I'm getting into the business and you sound like a fantastic fella to work with, as well as educated. I have an idea of where to build a business but I can't do it alone. I will be taking an internship and probably heading to Hawaii for a follow up to get me accustom to the equatorial fish and produce. Good luck on your search, hope all goes well for you.

Aloha my name is Max Ferris. I am from the island of Maui and have recently moved to San Diego. In Maui I worked at Maui Aquaponics as a site manager. Maui Aquaponics was the biggest Aquaponics system in the state of Hawaii and possibly the world. We had more than fifteen thousand Tilapia running our system and over 1700ft of trough length with our own hatchery. It was a great project to be apart of and I love working with Aquaponics. Aquaponics has a huge future and I love being apart of it. Currently I am located in San Diego at this time, but I am young and willing to be anywhere in the world with my life right now. I was laid off from Maui Aquaponics, and am currently looking for a position within the Aquaponic field. If anyone knows of any opportunities or has an opportunity for me please let me know. Working for Maui Aquaponics on such a large scale has prepared me for large commercial systems, and the trouble shooting that came along with the trials and tribulations of efficiency. Can't wait to get back on a farm. Mahalo for your time, Max

Hello Everyone!

I live in Michigan, I have recently started stage two of my hydroponics system, Aqua ponics!

I started with 100 gold fish, down to about 25 - 30 now, they are now starting the second system.

I have added 25 Blue Tilapia to the first system and I have sorted out one Male and 5 females. I am

now working on building up a breeding program. I have BIG ideas for starting a Tilapia Farm here in

Michigan!

Hello fellow enthusiats,

I was so honored to meet Silvia at the Aquaculture America 2012 and learn from her presentations. We posed for a souvenir shots at the Paris Hotel conference room. I also presented the results of my research at the Univ of Arizona re: Vegetable production in recirculating aquaponics system using Nile tilapia with and without prawn. 'Twas a good experience to meet different personalities and learn more ides.

I am now here in the Philippines and have reported for work to my university. Will build my own system in my backyard and will share to you the progress. But I am hoping that someday I will be back to work in the US doing the things that I love: aquaponics. If there is anyone interested or willing, pls find ways to help me have a working visa. Good Day!!

Hello to the community of fellow eco-doers! I have recently found this wonderful art of Aquaponics. I have always raised a garden of my own, and had a small hydroponics operation as well, however in Montana it is quite hard to continue an operation without a proper greenhouse, so as I have come to the conclusion to go larger scale and accompany the plants with an organic nutrient base, fish!

However to get to this level I feel the need to learn more about the industry, where you come in. I am searching for employment to begin my learning, from there or while there I will find a school with related studies within the Aquaculture Industry in hopes to become a certified or better yet a degree holder with relevant qualifications.

If you have an interest in hiring a very motivated learner as well as a happy gardener I would be more than willing to relocate for the opportunity to assist in the growing demand for local, fresh, organic foods. If you would like to learn more about me please do ask, I would forward any information requests or resume to you immediately.

Also, if any of you have an idea of where a real school would be where as I can work to reach my goal it would be much appreciated. I thank you all for the time you have spent to help educate the rest of the world.

Hi Jerry, I am interested in hearing more about your work. I live in southern Oregon and would like to get a commercial system going here. I agree that this is a powerful way to address hunger. Are you currently building systems? How are  you choosing where to build a system; ie. market research? How are you funding this? I look forward to hearing more. Cheers, John

hello I am searching for some serious people who want to turn the world around. when I think about all the advancements in our lifetimes we have not implemented a working solution to world starvation... Seriously the more I think about it the more disgusted I become with humanity So here is my attempt to get it done I am trying to set up aquaponic farms in many areas to start with in the United states and hopefully around the world. If we pool resources I believe we can get it done. I have 4 areas I am currently developing 1: Northern WI 2. Southern IL 3. central TN. 4. North Eastern OK. if you have any interest in being a part of or have other locations that you may want to tackle this global problem together feel free to contact me directly by email : holy_lovin1@yahoo.com. Thanks my friends and I wish you all joy and success.
