I am a M.S. candidate and graduate assistant (intro. to ecology and zoology lab instructor) at the University of Central Missouri within the Dept. of Biology and Agriculture. I conducted my thesis research on sweet basil production in aquaponic and hydroponic systems. I have experience with channel catfish, blue tilapia, and trout management, as well as RAS. I will be graduating in December, and currently am looking for an aquaponic related position after graduation. Feel free to send me an email at dunwoody@ucmo.edu. I can send my resume and C.V. as well. Thank you!

I am 47 years old with a diverse background and hands on  experience in carpentry and landscaping. I have owned my own business in the building and remodeling / home improvement industry, and have several years experience working for beautifulgardenslandscaping.com.  I  also have pond building experience including aquascapes products.

I have been researching and building my own backyard  aquaponics systems for the past 2 years. I definitely have the fever. My first system was a 300 gallon system with native pumpkin-seed fish and a gravel ebb and flo system elevated on my deck. It was a great success and I enjoyed produce all summer long.  I live in the New England area and I am presently working on a system design to incorporate fish tanks in my basement with  thermal mass and a greenhouse outside of the basement window. I read and learn things on a daily basis and am linked into some the most prominent blogs. I am also dedicated to sound nutrition and the use of  heirloom variety seeds and  native plants in diet. A true permaculturist at heart.

Presently I find myself at a crossroads. My present employment is a retail position with limited opportunity for me to excel at my forte.  I am considering any and all possibilities including relocation. I am seeking a growing company in aquaponics to learn from and contribute to in both hands on and technical applications. I am eager to learn the business and would welcome the abilty to futher my education as well.

I do presently own a home and would need some time to relocate. If you are interested let me know and I'll give you an email and number . thanks

Not in a position to work or am looking for any, but it's interesting following the interest over the past two years. Would love to hear if and how things have worked out for various people that have posted on this Jobs section of the forum and get a feel for what the workforce is becoming. Maybe just a reply on how it has worked out for them.

I am currently an aquaponics researcher in Iowa, looking at the feasibility and economic viability of aquaponics in the Midwest.  I am running 3 replicated 190 gal systems that I designed, growing basil with channel catfish under glass.  I am looking to get back into the Southeastern US near my family.  Any help in getting there would be much appreciated.  My email is dapattillo@gmail.com

My experience with Aquaponics mostly comes from my previous job as a site manager at Maui Aquaponics. Maui Aquaponics was the biggest Aquaponics system in the state of Hawaii. We had more than fifteen thousand Tilapia running our system and over 6,736 square feet in grow area with our own hatchery. I am currently unemployed and looking for a job on Maui. I am not totally stuck on working with just Aquaponics. I love working with all types of organic farming and sustainable establishments. Also I have a parcel of 1 acre of land that I have permission to use for Aquaponics that has all the most important resources for a successful system, but have not come across the funding yet. I have been in search for a source of funding for about a year now and have not come across the right resource. If anyone knows a source, or knows of a possible job for my qualifications please let me know. Mahalo for your time, Max max.ferris@gmail.com 808-870-8189

Hello folks. I just bought an 8 acre greenhouse full of hydroponic roses in Santa Cruz, CA, and will begin immediately converting the whole place to aquaponic vegetable production. I am looking for a few dozen interns for a 3 month stay, that willing to work insanely hard for free. :D

I will provide on-site dorms, food staples, showers, and a common kitchen. Paid positions will be hired from intern graduates. This is a big project, and may even be the largest commercial AP greenhouse out there (somebody please tell me if you know of another). At capacity, we will be pitting out nearly 1 million heads of leafy greens per month. That's a lot of feeding, seeding, harvesting, and delivery.

Requirements: a willing spirit, willing to learn, work, and have a hell of a good time doing it.

Hello AP source members!

I am a university student in the state of California with a passion, and a knack, for aquaponics. My team and I are building a series of systems showcasing the diversity of AP systems on our school's campus. As "Director of Operations", I've tasked myself with learning as many of the secrets of aquafarming as I can, so as to be able to pass on the good knowledge, and tasty produce!

In prep for our future goals, I need to find an opportunity to contribute to a successful AP garden as an apprentice/intern, possibly for a reasonable stipend, on the west coast (WA or CA). Basically I'm looking to trade, consistent and enthusiastic work for some technical training. I would be happy to go over my qualifications for such a position over phone or email, a conversation which can be arranged by private message. Thank you!
