- Cycling as of 10/26/11. Bluegill stocked 12/2011. Interested in food quality and safety, permaculture. Gardener for many years, fisherman. As system matures, looking forward to comparisons between ground garden and aquaponics. 2014 fish stocking - bluegill, one largemouth bass, one catfish. August 2015 stocked tilapia. Tilapia grew rapidly and survived the winter but didn't feed for 2 1/2 months.

Sorry I did not see your post. I am heating my tank water to 75 degrees. The heater runs for a little while in the early dawn hours. I'm hoping to keep the tilapia growing through the winter. Will see if warm roots helps too.
