    Eric,
Thanks for taking the interest in searching out similar "work" of mine. I am familiar with Will Allen and Growing Power. We inherently address similar issues and have started with similar motivations. I will be researching the viability of an urban microfarm in Baltimore, with Johns Hopkins, using available vertical, rooftop, and aquaculture growing methods. The idea is to build a scalable, profitable business for the locals to eventually take over. I have a personal stake in the work too. I want to live and learn about the sustainable systems in order to repeat it somewhere else of my choice. Who wouldn't?! I want to live sustainably while I help others understand how its possible also. :) Do you still need clarification of my effort? It will be

    Hi Eric,

Were you doing aquaponics when you lived in BC? If so, what did you use for fish, and where did you get them.

Your pictures of your new set up looks awesome. Our little grow house is just is a setup model. If it all goes as good as we expect it will, my brother has 3 acres of gently sloping land. We envision several large grow houses on a tiered system. Gravity feed down from our huge fish ponds at the top. A large pump at the bottom to return water to the fish tank.

Hahaha, yes heating is definately an issue. We are looking into solar water heating to provide radiant heat for the grow house. We are also looking into off-grid ways of generating power as well. We have a desire to to be totally self sustainable eco friendly and organic.
