I think I figured out my siphon issue, watched three flawless cycles. Only change I made was to put a flex tube under the down pipe....almost like a trap but actually down and level for a few inches and then into tank. water stays in the tube after the first cycle and can see the pressure change then off it goes.
Also went from a reduced 1 inch to 3/4 to just a stand pipe of 1 inch with a champer on it.
