Have you read any of the Jim Joyner info online? Michelle Silva has a thread somewhere here that has a link to some of it. It kind of ends a year ago; he was to build a greenhouse. I contacted him and he replied he's still working with the worms, but way busy learning to run the greenhouse. He has said his system seemed to run low on nitrogen and he started feeding the worms rabbit pellets and de-fatted soybean meal. That's why my question to you. If the worms are getting enough to eat by consuming green waste evidenced by their population growth, I would think pee-ponics or ammonia addition would give you the extra nitrogen-eventually.

This is what I was referring to:BYAP Vermiponics There is another thread on DIY Aquaponics; you need to join that one first. Google search for Jim Joyner and vermiponics will find more stuff.  Nitrate can get to like 500 before it becomes a problem. High nitrate just means you need more plants-or plants that feed heavier. Ex: tomatoes need more than lettuce.

Ammonium chloride crystals or liquid ammonia from the store (cleaning product) would work.  Make sure to buy ammonia without fragrance or detergent. Shake the bottle to see if it foams-to be avoided.
