I am an Indian from the Punjab. When the British left in 1094, Punjab was divided into two, part became West Pakistan and rest remained Indian. Our customs are similar except our religion. I am a Hindu/Sikh and follow basically the teachings of Guru Nanak & Shirdi Sai Baba...Humanity basically. Naturally I found your mention of the Hawaiian herbal healing knowledge and it's practitioners wonderful.
I am sincerely thankful to come into contact with wonderful people as Tim & yourself who are willing to share with others to help them with a better today and tomorrow.
I am living in Lake Mary (near Orlando FL), and am always looking to see how I can help those who could really benefit (being an Economics & Accountancy student...believe in Marginal Gain / Benefit principal). India is very close to my heart and yes I often think of helping this technology being set up there. Unfortunately the Indian Government rules do not allow any investment in "Agriculture" by foreigners or by Non-resident Indians. I am looking into other ways around this and do believe that I will soon have success. But first, I have to educate myself and learn. Only then can I pass on such knowledge :-)
I will speak to to at a later date as to such progress. This may be delayed slightly as I have unfortunately had an accident. I fell on the pool stairs this weekend while swimming with my wife and the MRI reveals that I have a complete tear of the Achilles’ tendon and it is highly likely that I will require an operation. It also happens to be on my weak leg. Well, that will certainly limit my mobility. Still, all I do is ask the Lord for strength to carry on my research Aquaponic garden, even if at a slower place. As said "Rome was not built in a day".
Jai Mata Di & wishing you and Tim as well as all of the Friendly Aquaponic Family a very Happy Krishan Janmashtami, (birthday celebrations of Lord Krishina).
Namesta Susanne,
Thank you so much for your kind words and info. You truly are living up to your writings as being ever ready to help your fellow beings. God bless.
Yesterday the Orthopedic Specialist Doctor stated that he was opting for the "non-operative" repair...so double plaster cast...no walking or use of my leg for ???. Well he almost saw a tear in my eye I explained to him that I had to be in my gardens...my research aqauponic garden...after all, I am closer to my God there than anywhere else. He smiled and agreed and gave me a prescription for a "move around".... Hey! Better than no mobility. At least I will be able to go into the garden and see the fish and start to plant (per Moon days). Enclose photos below.
Susanne, I had wished both Tim and yourself, requested him as friend and mentioned that I had purchased the Micro System and was building my research aquaponic garden based largely on those plans. Further I intended to come to your Commercial training in April 2011 (as we say, if that is the wish of my Lord). I have not heard back. I know that running a full scale Commercial operation as well as getting ready for the upcoming Commercial training must be taking up a lot of time. I have copied my message to Tim on the nest message.
I have posed an Event for Friendly Aquaponics training scheduled for October 2010 bu do strongly suggest that you post it too. God bless :-)
Both of your are real Guru's of DWC Aquaponics. Thank you sincerely for your regular newsletters as well as sharing with the rest of the world. I would love to be one of your students and plan to participate at the Commercial Training class in April 2011.
I have purchased your Micro system manual and was very pleased at all contacts as well as the detail vendor & product lists. I have not been able to find the contact / vendor / source for the 2" net pots (even though you have posted the manufacture on the FAQ), or the holders for them for starting seeds. Could you please provide me with the info.
I am also interested in your experience in using 70% fine coconut fiber (coir) and 30% vermiculite for starting your seed. Does this mixture not fall into he DWC growbeds and cause larger solids within the system? I Without additional filters, would this not lead to solids sticking to the plant roots and causing oxygen uptake issues? I am sure that these are novice questions to you so please forgive me for asking...but I am a novice waning to learn from both of you :-)
If possible, could you also e-mail me the 2007 business plan for review so that I can start to put together a "skeleton business plan" which I can complete after my Commercial training in April 2011.
