Organic Fish Feed

This group is for Aquaponic Gardeners that are interested in obtaining Organic fish feed. Please post weather you are interested in Organic fish feed and how much you are interested in. You can buy USDA certified organic fish food from The Aquaponic Store; Volume will determine the price (more volume = lower price).

If you have any questions about organic; what it is? Whats a GMO? and other questions, PLEASE ASK!!! There are way too many people that don't really know what chemicals and GMO's do to us and our fish in an aquaponic system!

Thanks and post soon!

I plan to raise trout and kokanee salmon - need fish food with higher protein[42%]. Is that available?

Yes, and it's 0.

Have you tested your tap water for nitrites?

Comment by Kenyon James Hopkins on May 17, 2012 at 11:56pm

I learned tonight my nitrite testing solution might be bad. I just exchanged 500 of my 700 gallons due to a hose coming off a pump and it's still testing at 6ppm.

Kenyon, good thing your fish are tilapia.  Anything else would probably be dead.

Comment by Kenyon James Hopkins on May 17, 2012 at 5:01pm

But since my nitrites are still between 6-7 for the last 3 weeks, I can't feed them too much. They are still growing, however.

No. Sadly no one responded to my question. I also searched the web and found nothing. Love bugs seem to be drawn to white objects so I just stood up pieces of unused PVP and pick them off by the dozens and toss them in the tank.

Welcome everyone! Sorry about the delay to approve some of you usually I am notified when a member is waiting for approval but I wasn't notified till today.

Again Welcome!

Kenyon did you find out anything about Love bugs? How are you collecting them?

Welcome Lana and Ray.

I have been doing aquaponics since 2004. I took the UVI course in 2007 and designed the 150,000 gallon system at Morning Star Fishermen and installed it.

I'm currently having USDA Certified fish food formulated.

If you have any questions please ask...maybe someone else was wanting to know the same thing.
