@Clay:  I have no idea how I missed your earlier post.  Sorry about that!  Anyway, I'd love to do a trade if that's what you want to do.  I just bought 2 ibc's so I'm ok there but a cooler would be fine.  I'll message you with my phone# & address.

@Christopher: Thank you! I work from home so anytime is ok with me.  I'll message you with my phone# & address.

Hi Sam
I am glad there are people out there like you. I would very much like to Pick up some fingerlings and see your setup if it is OK. I am just starting out and very exited about aquaponics. I have a 50 gallon tank so far. I would also be willing to give away fingerlings after they start breeding.

free fish is ok but me being the kind of person who is personaly mortified (i mean ME)by owing someone for "a handout" even though you may not see it that way. i will excange work  or stuff for fish. i have a good hookup with a guy who has ibc tanks (they will need cleaning) and for a limited time have come very big styrefoam coolers (good for shiping fish live or frozen) that i will excange for fry. im in hollywood fl

Sam...I saw that you were giving away 50 fish to anyone in your area who is setting up a system...When can I come by?   LOL   I am a little excited..   I've been an Organic Farmer for many years now...I added Hydroponics to my farm abut 6 yrs ago...I do have some fish...but they are "wild" fish caught from a cast net and grown in a barrel...  I haven't lost any....SO I decided to get a pool and start an actual mini fish farm...  The pool is ready, it has lots of algae and is up to temp...All air is working so are my pumps...  This site is WONDERFUL!  Thanks for all the great info that you have shared...

Thanks Gwen.  Feel free to come by anytime.  I'll email you my phone # so we can make arrangements.  I work from home and am very flexible so make it easy on yourself.  You'll need to go by walmart or somewhere similar to get a battery operated aerator and be sure to bring a decent size cooler to put them in.

How many gallons is your pool? Have you checked the ph? Is it well aerated and have something in place for CO2 release like water falling?

I'm looking forward to you sharing your knowledge on raising plants organically with our community.

I for one am more than happy to share the bounty and I'm sure there are others. The enjoyment of breeding tilapia is enough for me, I do not do it for money.

So here's my deal, anyone that is within driving distance of my area and is starting out in aquaponics or that is expanding their personal systems I will be more than happy to give you some fingerlings, just send me a message.

I'm sure there are others too, whether its tilapia, koi, catfish, bream, goldfish, trout, etc.  For those that are willing to give, post your location and what you are able to give.

....creating a better world through Aquaponics!
