Hi Austin,

Thanks for your comments. My system is just for personal consumption. I don't know why aquaponics has not become more widespread. I would like to see aquaponics grow to provide localized commercial sources of food. It makes so much sense.

Hi,

Sounds awesome. Because I currently live in an apartment, I am restricted to smaller systems. Due to known government restrictions and requirements of permits, I'm considering not growing fish altogether :(

Do you plan to grow for personal consumption or commercial?

Hi

I have an aquaponics system set up in my 8'x12' greenhouse in West Roxbury. It has been in operation only for about 1 month. It has a 70 gallon fish tank with 25 blue gill fingerlings and one 2'x3' grow bed. I am planning to expand it with a second grow bed and another fish tank and grow beds eventually. It is unfortunate that Boston considers tilapia an invasive species even though tilapia would never survive in the cold New England waters.
